Last week I had the opportunity to meet with the Epoch Times. who is producing a documentary on the January 6 Political Prisoners. Epoch Times has been quite instrumental in raising awareness about the unconstitutional treatment of the J6ers, and have been very supportive of our family as we continue to grieve the loss of our Matt. One of the things that contributed to Matt's mental anguish was the unfair treatment by the mainstream media as well as the local media in the Shenango Valley where he lived. Having the support of conservative news sources has been greatly appreciated.
Also, while in DC I had a meeting with Congressman Louie Gohmert's Legislative Director. She is an amazing person with an enormous amount of compassion, and she is presently in the process of drafting a bill which is named the Matthew Perna Bill. The Bill addresses the unconstitutional manner in which Matt was treated, as well as the rest of the Patriots from January 6 who are suffering as well. The constant postponements and delays at the last minute exasperated Matt, as well as the manner in which the DOJ is attempting to add Terrorist Enhancements at the sentencing hearings, which in effect lengthens the possible sentence to several years in prison.
Although we understand that the Democrats (while in control of the House of Representatives) would never pass such a Bill, we have hopes that soon the Republicans will dominate, and the Bill will eventually become law. I will continue to update you on the progress of this amazing development.
